Operations Infrastructure Engineer

We’re looking for an Operations Infrastructure Engineer to support, maintain and enhance our IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance and security across the business.

In this role, you’ll work closely with internal teams and third-party providers to deliver high-quality infrastructure support and contribute to key technical projects. You’ll play an important part in ensuring our systems operate efficiently, while also supporting continuous improvement and innovation across our technology environment.

You’ll help embed a proactive, service-focused approach to infrastructure support, ensuring strong operational performance, effective troubleshooting and a robust technical environment that supports business needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing 3rd line infrastructure support, ensuring requests are prioritised and resolved in line with SLAs
  • Supporting the delivery and change of infrastructure services across operational and project activities
  • Configuring, monitoring, and maintaining infrastructure systems to meet performance and availability targets
  • Assisting with system upgrades, installations, and integration activities
  • Carrying out testing of new and upgraded infrastructure prior to release into live environments
  • Producing and maintaining clear technical documentation to defined standards
  • Working collaboratively with third-party providers to diagnose and resolve complex issues
  • Providing technical input and support across infrastructure projects, datacentre, and cloud environments
  • Supporting the delivery of information security processes in collaboration with the security team
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and team objectives
  • Maintaining awareness of emerging technologies and identifying opportunities to enhance services

Our Ideal Candidate

You are an experienced infrastructure professional with strong technical knowledge across IT systems, support, and operational environments. You’ll be confident working in a 3rd line or equivalent role, with the ability to troubleshoot, resolve, and improve complex infrastructure issues.

You bring a collaborative approach, working effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver reliable and efficient services. You’re comfortable balancing operational support with project activity, and you take a proactive approach to identifying improvements and driving better ways of working.

You are motivated by delivering high-performance systems, maintaining service continuity, and contributing to a stable and secure infrastructure environment.

This Role Would Suit

  • An experienced Infrastructure Engineer
  • Someone with strong expertise in datacentre or enterprise infrastructure environments with a strong background in Azure
  • A technically capable problem solver with experience of troubleshooting complex systems
  • A collaborative team player who can work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers
  • An individual who is passionate about continuous improvement and technology innovation
  • Someone who can balance operational support with project delivery
