Operations Lead / Site Operations Manager – Hospitality & Workplace Catering

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Operations Lead / Site Operations Manager to take ownership of a busy, multi-faceted hospitality operation at a fixed site.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for delivering an outstanding customer and client experience across several distinct operations, including:

  • A café serving breakfast and lunch
  • An evening bar and event space
  • Office food and hospitality delivery across the site
  • Events, meetings and bespoke hospitality requirements

The Role

As Operations Lead, you’ll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the site, bringing together multiple outlets and service styles into one consistently high-performing operation.

You’ll lead and develop the onsite team, maintain excellent operational standards and work closely with the client and wider business to ensure the operation is commercially successful, well organised and continually evolving.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading all day-to-day hospitality and catering operations across the site
  • Managing café, bar, events and office delivery services
  • Recruiting, developing, motivating and retaining a high-performing team
  • Creating effective rotas and ensuring staffing levels reflect business demand
  • Maintaining consistently high standards of food, drink, service and presentation
  • Taking ownership of the customer journey and overall guest experience
  • Building a strong and collaborative relationship with the client and key stakeholders
  • Overseeing events from planning through to successful delivery
  • Managing budgets, labour, stock, purchasing and operational costs
  • Monitoring sales and performance and identifying opportunities to grow revenue and improve profitability
  • Ensuring excellent health & safety, food safety, licensing and compliance standards
  • Developing efficient operating procedures across all areas of the site
  • Working closely with culinary, events and support teams to deliver a seamless service
  • Driving continuous improvement and introducing new ideas that keep the offer fresh and relevant

About You

We’re looking for someone who is confident taking ownership of a complex operation and equally comfortable on the floor, with a client or reviewing the numbers.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Strong operational management experience within hospitality, contract catering, workplace dining, hotels, restaurants or a multi-outlet venue
  • Experience managing multiple revenue streams or service styles within one location
  • A proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams
  • Strong commercial awareness, including labour, stock, budgeting and P&L management
  • Excellent client and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience delivering events and hospitality
  • A passion for great food, drink and customer experience
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to make decisions
  • Flexibility to support occasional evening events as part of the operation
