TGRC has partnered with a leading UK business specialising in the design, delivery and operation of electrical infrastructure and utility connections.
As the business continues to grow, they are looking to hire an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimise day-to-day operational delivery across their portfolio of utility and electrical infrastructure projects. This is a senior, hands-on leadership position, responsible for ensuring projects and operational activities are delivered safely, efficiently, commercially and to a consistently high standard. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, project teams, engineers, contractors, clients and network stakeholders to drive operational performance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage day-to-day operational activities across electrical and utility infrastructure projects.
- Oversee the successful delivery of projects from planning and mobilisation through to construction, commissioning and handover.
- Manage and coordinate internal engineering, project and site teams alongside external contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure operational programmes are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within agreed budgets.
- Provide technical and operational leadership across electrical infrastructure and power network projects.
- Develop and implement effective operational processes, procedures and performance standards.
- Monitor project and operational performance, identifying risks, delays, resource requirements and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage contractor performance, ensuring work is delivered in accordance with agreed programmes, specifications, quality standards and health & safety requirements.
- Work closely with clients, DNOs, suppliers and other key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and successful project delivery.
- Provide oversight of project planning, resource allocation, procurement, commissioning and handover activities.
- Support commercial management, including budgets, forecasting, cost control, variations and contract performance.
- Ensure all operational activities comply with relevant electrical, technical, quality and health & safety standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure appropriate RAMS, permits, inspections and assurance processes are in place.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement across operational processes and project delivery.
- Provide regular operational and performance reporting to senior management.
- Support business growth by contributing technical and operational expertise to tenders, bids, feasibility studies and new project opportunities.

Key Requirements:

- Proven experience in an Operations Manager, Operations Director, Senior Project Manager, Programme Manager or similar senior operational role.
- Strong background within utilities, electrical infrastructure, power networks, engineering or a related technical environment.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
- Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, construction and commissioning activities.
- Experience managing multiple projects or operational workstreams simultaneously.
- Demonstrable experience managing budgets, commercial performance and project costs.
- Strong understanding of health & safety, risk management and safe systems of work.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a practical and commercially minded approach.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.
- Full UK driving licence.
