About the role
The Operations Liaison & Contracts Manager will be responsible for the effective management, performance, and strategic development of a portfolio of operational support contracts across Rotating Machinery, Control Systems, and associated engineering disciplines.
The role will provide a critical link between Operations, Engineering, Regional Engineering Teams, Cyber, and external suppliers, ensuring that contracted services are aligned with operational priorities, asset availability, safety, compliance, and long-term business strategy.
Why this role matters
This role ensures operational support arrangements deliver maximum value, resilience, and performance by fostering effective collaboration, robust supplier oversight, and the seamless integration of specialist engineering services across critical asset portfolios.
What you'll be doing
A key responsibility will be to lead the rationalisation and optimisation of the existing contract portfolio, developing and implementing a structured tendering strategy that reduces duplication, improves commercial value, simplifies contract management, and creates greater consistency across the organisation.
The role will also act as the primary focal point and conduit between Regional Cyber Engineers and the central Cyber function, ensuring effective forward planning, resource availability, prioritisation, and delivery of Cyber-related engineering activities across the operational estate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
