ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for an Operations & Logistics Manager to own the day-to-day running of Finisterre’s UK and international logistics operation – from the moment goods leave our suppliers, through freight and customs, into our 3PL, and out to our customers, stores and wholesale partners.
You’ll hold operational and performance accountability for our 3PL relationship, inbound freight and customs execution, and company-wide stock accuracy. Working closely with our buying, merchandising, finance and channel teams, you’ll keep product moving on time and on budget, hold our logistics partners to high standards, and help us reduce the environmental impact of how we move our products around the world.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all aspects of inbound logistics, from FOB supplier handover through freight forwarders to 3PL receipt, optimising routes, carriers and consolidation to reduce freight costs and transit times.
- Own relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers and outbound carriers, holding them to agreed KPIs and SLAs and reviewing rates against the market ahead of renewals.
- Manage day-to-day customs compliance, including accurate classification, valuation and documentation, and identify opportunities to optimise duties and tariffs.
- Review freight quotes and expected duty against the range plan, and own the accuracy of goods-in-transit, commodity and HS code data in our systems.
- Manage the day-to-day relationship and performance of our 3PL partner across inbound, outbound, returns and stock accuracy, including capacity planning for seasonal peaks and launches.
- Deliver outbound ecommerce, store and wholesale fulfilment to agreed SLAs, working with channel heads to manage forecast volumes.
- Own stock accuracy across our 3PL and retail portfolio – including the count calendar, variance investigation and agreeing adjustments with Finance.
- Act as the escalation point for day-to-day operational and logistics issues, lead the weekly stakeholder meeting and own the review cycle for our SOPs.
- Produce regular reporting on supplier compliance, “delivered & received” status, freight costs, 3PL and carrier performance.
- Own environmental impact reporting for our logistics, including carbon footprint and container utilisation, and drive initiatives to reduce it.
- Input into inbound, operational and outbound budgets and manage delivery against them, escalating variances to the Head of Operations & Logistics.
- Monitor international supply chain risks and disruptions, proactively managing contingencies to protect service levels.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
