Role Description

The Operations Manager is a full-time, multi-site role based in Greater London and the home counties. This role oversees day-to-day catering operations across client sites, ensuring service quality, operational efficiency, and adherence to company standards and client expectations.

  • Managing on-site teams
  • Driving financial performance and budget delivery
  • Supporting the delivery of workplace restaurants, coffee bars, events, and fine dining
  • Implementing and refining processes
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
  • Collaborating with clients to address operational needs and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Supporting new site mobilisations
  • Driving service innovation
  • Promoting Thomas & Tate’s high performance values across all locations

Qualifications

  • Experience in operations management within hospitality, catering, or food service environments, including multi-site or client-based operations.
  • Strong team leadership and people management skills, with experience in coaching, performance management, and building high-performing teams.
  • Competence in budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis to manage site profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations, with a track record of maintaining compliant, safe working environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, including experience in process improvement and managing competing priorities.
  • Comfort with using digital tools in a fast-paced, improvement focused business.
  • Commitment to social impact and community-focused values, with an understanding of social enterprise principles.
  • Relevant qualifications in hospitality management, business, or a related field are beneficial, along with prior experience in UK-based catering or workplace hospitality.
