Jarrold Facilities Management provides facilities management services across the Norwich area through its well-established Cleaning, Maintenance and Security teams. As a small company with a friendly and committed team, we pride ourselves on providing a personal and tailored service to our clients.

We are now looking to recruit a full-time Operations Manager who will lead and coordinate our operational teams, while also playing an important role in developing customer relationships, winning new business and supporting the continued growth of the company.

Role Overview:

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be self-motivated and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy. Passionate about people, customer service and business development, you will have proven experience in stakeholder management, leadership and workforce organisation. This is a hands-on role. You will need to think on your feet, find practical solutions and maintain a positive and proactive approach. Alongside managing the day-to-day operation, we are looking for someone who can spot opportunities, build strong relationships and help us grow.

Responsibilities include:

People Management

  • Recruitment of Security, Cleaning, Maintenance and Reception colleagues, from advertising vacancies through to induction of new team members
  • Workforce planning and ensuring appropriate resource is available to meet customer requirements
  • Collation and checking of payroll information
  • Supporting the management of employment contracts, performance and colleague development
  • Leading, supporting and motivating operational teams

Operations

  • Day to day coordination of Cleaning, Security and Maintenance services
  • Ensuring customer requirements and agreed service levels are consistently delivered
  • Supporting the mobilisation of new contracts and customers
  • Resolving operational issues quickly and effectively
  • Maintaining appropriate operational, Health & Safety and compliance standards
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service delivery and customer experience

Finance and Budget Control

  • Buying and controlling stock
  • Invoice administration and checking
  • Planning and delivery of the annual budget
  • Monitoring operational costs and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and margin
  • Supporting the Managing Director with financial performance and commercial decision making

Customer and Stakeholder Management

  • Building strong relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers and contractors
  • Regular customer contact and service reviews
  • Understanding customer requirements and identifying opportunities to provide additional services
  • Supporting the retention and development of existing contracts
  • Ensuring issues are resolved professionally and relationships remain strong

Sales and Business Growth

  • Working alongside the Managing Director to identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Building relationships with prospective customers across Cleaning, Security and Maintenance services
  • Following up enquiries, leads and potential opportunities
  • Attending customer meetings and site visits
  • Supporting the preparation of quotations, tenders and proposals
  • Identifying opportunities to cross sell additional services to existing customers
  • Helping to develop our pipeline of new business and convert opportunities into long term customers
  • Supporting the mobilisation and successful handover of new contracts into the operational teams
  • Representing Jarrold Facilities Management professionally and helping to grow our reputation across the local market

Working Location:

Carmelite House, Norwich, with regular travel to client sites as required.
