About The Role

Bullet Express is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at our Bothwell site.

This is a key management role within our operation, responsible for the day-to-day running of our warehouse and transport operation. You will lead the operational teams, ensure our customers receive the level of service they expect, and make sure the operation runs safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced transport and logistics environment. You will need to be a strong people manager who can make decisions, solve problems and take ownership of the operation.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Operations and fellow Operations Manager and other departments across the business to continually improve performance, service and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse and transport operation.
  • Ensure customer deliveries and collections are completed in line with agreed service levels and KPIs.
  • Manage the team responsible for inbound and outbound freight, including loading, unloading, scanning and movement through the warehouse.
  • Monitor daily operational performance and take action quickly when issues arise.
  • Plan staffing, vehicles and warehouse resources to meet the needs of the operation.
  • Support and manage trunking and network operations.
  • Ensure clear communication and handovers between shifts and departments.
  • Identify ways to improve processes, productivity and service.

People Management

  • Lead, support and develop the operational teams.
  • Set clear expectations and ensure team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Manage staffing levels, holidays, overtime and agency requirements.
  • Monitor performance and address any issues quickly and fairly.
  • Complete return-to-work meetings, investigations, performance reviews and disciplinary processes where required.
  • Coach and develop supervisors and team members.
  • Build a positive working environment with a strong focus on teamwork, accountability and performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
