Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Brentwood, Essex, Office based

Salary: Circa GBP60,000 per annum including the benefits below, depending on experience

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

About The Role

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to join our team. This role includes, Transport, Vehicle and Driver Management, Budgetary Management, Regulatory Compliance as well as QHSE Management relating to a busy operations department and remote locations.

As Part Of The Team You Will

  • Oversee the effective operation of the transport, hazardous waste facilities and remote locations in line with legislation and regulation.
  • Ensure that a cost effective (within budget) and efficient service is provided to ensure maximum profit and customer satisfaction including maintaining and reviewing relationships with suppliers.
  • Management and execution of the day-to-day plan within the transport operation, working closely with other departments to ensure vehicle utilisation is maximised at all times and service levels are adhered to.
  • Ensure we are providing services within customers SLAs and exceeding overall customer expectations.
  • Ensure that the company's QHSE provision is in line with legislation and regulation. Maintain company accreditations.
  • Manage the review, update, and implementation of all group, operational and transport policies/procedures, risk assessments, safe operating working practices and guidance documents.

About You

Skills and Experience Required

  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced transport department, including Transport Manager CPC Qualification, potentially COTC and ideally within the waste industry.
  • Up to date knowledge of drivers hours and working time regulations.
  • Experience of managing people including drivers who operate away from our base for a period of time.
  • Strong H and S background, ideally with a NEBOSH qualification
  • Managing a diverse range of roles and skill sets with a focus on developing the team for their personal and company development and in line with the company PRDP processes.
  • Excellent planning and communication skills will be required to enable a strong focus on continuous improvement in people and processes.
  • Strong IT skills
  • LGV C+E and ADR Licence Holder desirable
