Job Location: UK wide
Job Type: Permanent
Remuneration: Competitive salary taking into account skills, experience, and qualifications
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our award-winning Subsidence division.
You'll lead a team of Subsidence Claims Consultants. Each one manages a portfolio of domestic and commercial claims from start to finish and has the authority to make all the technical decisions on their claims. Your job is to make sure the team has the support, direction, and capacity to move claims through to conclusion quickly, accurately, and to a high standard of customer and client service.
You'll be responsible for team performance and day-to-day enquiries. You'll spot training needs and make sure they're met, keep team morale high, manage absence, and carry out appraisals. You'll also work closely with colleagues across the Subsidence leadership team to keep communication and collaboration running smoothly across the division.
If you're looking for a role that combines office and remote working, so you can balance work and life while leading a skilled team, this could be perfect for you.
This role suits a confident people leader from the insurance, claims, or loss adjusting industry. Technical knowledge of subsidence claims would be a real advantage.
Skills you will have when you apply:
- Insurance or claims background: Experience in an insurance, claims, or loss adjusting environment is essential.
- Subsidence technical knowledge: Knowing how subsidence claims work would be a distinct advantage, so you can confidently support Consultants with technical queries.
- People leadership: You're organized and accountable, with strong people management skills and experience leading a team to deliver results.
- Coaching and development: You can guide and develop team members, give constructive feedback, and help them grow professionally.
- Performance focus: You're comfortable managing team performance, file quality, and service levels against client requirements.
- Cert CILA qualification: Cert CILA (or equivalent) would be valuable, or you're willing to work towards it.
- Decisive and resilient: You resolve matters decisively and stay flexible during times of surge.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and empathy: You build strong relationships with your team, clients, and customers.
- Adaptable and forward-thinking: You cope well in a fast-changing environment and want to embrace innovative ways of working.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
