Operations Manager – Manufacturing & Engineering
Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire
Up to £65,000
Monday to Thursday 7:00am–4:00pm - Friday 7:00am–1:00pm
An established manufacturing and engineering business is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take responsibility for the overall performance of its site. This is a broad, hands-on leadership role covering production, engineering, maintenance, quality, health & safety, materials, logistics and stores.
You’ll be responsible for driving operational performance, developing teams, improving processes and ensuring the site consistently delivers against its safety, quality, efficiency and customer requirements.
The Role
- Take overall responsibility for day-to-day site operations
- Lead production and ensure output and customer requirements are achieved
- Manage and develop operational teams across multiple functions
- Set and monitor KPIs, identifying areas for improvement
- Oversee engineering, maintenance and plant reliability
- Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality and cost
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and environmental compliance
- Work closely with quality teams to maintain standards and reduce recurring issues
- Oversee materials, stores, goods-in, despatch and internal material flow
- Develop and improve operational procedures and working practices
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the site
- Work closely with senior management on operational objectives and investment decisions

About You
We’re looking for an established operational leader with experience within manufacturing, engineering, production or a similar industrial environment.
You should have:
- Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Site Manager, Manufacturing Manager or similar
- Strong manufacturing and production experience
- Experience managing multiple operational functions
- A proven track record of improving operational performance
- Experience managing KPIs and driving continuous improvement
- Strong Health & Safety and quality knowledge
- Experience working alongside engineering and maintenance teams
- Experience across materials, logistics, stores or supply chain
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- A practical, hands-on approach to operational management

Desirable
- Sage MRP or similar ERP/MRP experience
- NEBOSH qualification
- IOSH
- CNC and/or press shop experience
- Lean Manufacturing, 5S or Kaizen experience
- ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 experience
- Multi-site manufacturing experience
