Operations Manager | Hospitality
Creative Hospitality Group | Swansea | £55,000 to £70,000 basic
There is real scope to make your mark in a small, ambitious business. Decisions are close to the work, your contribution is visible, and the improvements you introduce can shape how the whole company grows.
At Creative Hospitality Group, we have established venues across South Wales, committed General Managers and a compact HQ team. We also have substantial plans ahead, spanning new openings, the development of our existing brands, production opportunities and local partnerships.
Some projects are approaching launch. Others involve buildings, products and concepts we’re not yet ready to announce. Together, they will broaden what we serve, the places we create and how guests spend time with us. Local sourcing, sustainability and making better use of resources are important parts of that direction.
We’re ambitious, and we want to grow well. We’re looking for someone who can help build the operational foundations to make that possible.
Your Contribution
This is an integrator role: bringing people, priorities and the different parts of the business together, turning agreed plans into action and making improvements stick.
- You’ll lead and develop our General Managers, connect the work of HQ with our venues and take ownership of operational delivery. That includes commercial performance, food and drink standards, guest experience and the development of our people.
- You’ll turn competing priorities into clear responsibilities, practical processes and a consistent way of working. You’ll know when to coach, when to challenge and when a recurring problem needs a better system.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our next chapter is about raising standards across the business: food and drink we’re proud to serve, a thoughtful welcome, confident teams and the details being right even during busy trading.
How We Work
Our HQ team is small, our GMs know their venues and relationships matter. People know each other, support each other and care about the business. We want someone who will earn their trust, build on what works and help them achieve more.
- You’ll work with the founder on direction and priorities, with clear authority to make operational decisions and room to exercise your own judgement.
- Regular, focused conversations will keep us aligned and resolve decisions that need wider input.
We value initiative, constructive challenge and ownership. Your satisfaction should come from taking an agreed direction, organising what needs to happen and seeing the result become part of everyday practice.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong hospitality operating knowledge, including food, drink, service and the commercial detail behind a successful venue.
- Experience leading managers across hospitality venues, or as a senior General Manager who can demonstrate readiness to step into a group operations role.
- Examples of developing people and delivering improvements that continued without your constant involvement.
- Sound judgement around sales, labour, margins, stock and operating standards.
- The ability to bring people together, have clear conversations and follow through on commitments.
- An interest in using technology to reduce unnecessary administration and give teams more time for guests and each other.

You may already be an Operations Manager, Area Manager or Cluster Manager. You may be a strong senior General Manager ready for a broader role. Your responsibilities, judgement and results matter more than your title.
Practical experience of EOS or similar ways of setting priorities and maintaining accountability would be useful, but it is not essential. We’re interested in how you organise people and deliver results.
The Opportunity
You’ll join an independent business at a meaningful stage in its development, with direct access to decisions and the freedom to see your contribution take shape.
The basic salary is £55,000 to £70,000, depending on your experience, the scope of responsibility you have carried and the results you can demonstrate. We’re also developing additional benefits which you'll be able to influence and shape.
Your predominant base will be our Swansea office, with regular time across our South Wales venues, including purposeful visits during evenings and weekends. You’ll lead through managers, understand the operation first-hand and strengthen their ability to run it well.
If you take pride in developing people, bringing ambitious plans into focus and seeing improvements last, there is a business here you can help shape. We’d welcome a conversation about what you could bring to its next chapter.
