Role Description
The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Inverness, responsible for overseeing day-to-day fleet support operations and ensuring services are delivered efficiently and safely. This role coordinates workshop activities, mobile maintenance schedules, vehicle inspections, MOT preparation, diagnostics, and breakdown support to meet agreed service levels. The Operations Manager monitors compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, manages telematics data for fleet performance, and ensures effective use of resources, tools, and replacement vehicles through partner networks. Qualifications
- Experience in operations or fleet management, including coordinating workshop services, mobile maintenance, and vehicle inspections.
- Strong skills in scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization within a service or logistics environment.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance processes, MOT preparation, diagnostics, and telematics use for monitoring fleet performance.
- Ability to manage compliance with relevant transport, safety, and regulatory standards and maintain accurate operational records.
- Proven supervisory or team leadership experience, with the ability to coach staff and support a safe, high-performance culture.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills for working with customers, suppliers, and local partners.
- Competence with digital tools and software for scheduling, reporting, and data analysis; familiarity with fleet management systems is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach.
- Relevant vocational or academic qualifications in operations management, transport, logistics, or automotive services are beneficial.
- Previous experience in a vehicle workshop, fleet support, or transport operations environment in the Highlands or similar regions is an asset.
