Role Overview

Elevation Recruitment Group are partnered with a global metal processing business who are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operations across 3 of their facilities, overseeing a combined operations and maintenance team of around 25 staff.

Location: Sheffield

Salary: Up to £55,000 plus discretionary bonus

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and develop operations and maintenance teams across all three sites to ensure high performance, engagement, and accountability
  • Drive a positive culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee all metal processing activities across the three facilities, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are consistently met
  • Oversee maintenance planning and equipment reliability alongside production output, ensuring downtime is minimised and assets are well maintained
  • Set and monitor weekly production plans and collaborate with sales teams to ensure customer needs are met
  • Maintain a strong shopfloor presence across all sites to monitor performance, resolve issues, and support team needs
  • Identify and implement lean manufacturing practices (5S, waste elimination, value stream mapping, etc.) to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of innovation
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously across a multi-site, deadline-driven environment

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a related manufacturing or metal processing environment, ideally in a heavier setting
  • Strong background in people management and team development, ideally across multi-site teams
  • Experience managing both operations and maintenance functions
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and data-driven performance monitoring
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality
  • Practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on approach
