The Novotel Wolverhampton is a modern 132 room hotel in the city centre, just a short walk from Wolverhampton train centre and excellent road links via the M6 and M54. With 8 meeting and function rooms catering for 150.

Job Description

Operations Manager is a hands on role and requires flexibility to work shifts to suit the business needs, including evenings and weekends. Responsible for the Operational Heads of Department and reporting to the General Manager. You will ensure brand and company standards are maintained. Ensure guest expectations are anticipated and exceeded. You will act on behalf of the General Manager in their absence.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Empower and train staff to manage guest feedback and complaints effectively.
  • Drive improvement through RPS analysis.
  • Lead daily and weekly operational meetings.
  • Monitor and drive departmental sales and maximise upselling opportunities.
  • Support preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure fair, professional handling of employee relations, being the Hotel's HR Champion.
  • Conduct inductions, probation reviews, 1:1s, and annual appraisals.
  • Plan personal and team development with a focus on performance improvement.
  • Attend all H&S, fire, and food safety training and ensuring external audits are exceeded.
  • Abide by relevant legislation, including Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and COSHH guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Operational background in hospitality, previous Head of Department.
  • Level 2 Food Safety, Level 2 H&S.
