ABOUT CHAP

CHAP Group was founded in 1976 and is one of Scotland's leading privately owned construction groups. We are looking for an Operations Manager to join us and help lead delivery of our Construction division projects.

This is a role for someone who wants to build a career with us rather than simply fill a post. It has been created as part of our succession planning, with a genuine route into senior leadership for the right person.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Construction Director, you will take operational ownership of live construction projects from inception through to completion, working alongside our site teams, engineers and commercial function.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the delivery of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring each is completed safely, on programme, to budget and to specification
  • Leading, supporting and developing our site management teams
  • Driving health, safety and environmental performance across every site
  • Working with the commercial team on programme, procurement and cost control
  • Maintaining quality assurance and regulatory compliance
  • Building and protecting relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and our supply chain
  • Contributing to pre-construction and tender input when necessary

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
