An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations / General Manager to take overall responsibility for the performance, growth, and operation of an established engineering and technical business in Ayrshire.
You will take ownership of a multi-disciplinary operation, leading a team while working closely with senior management to drive business performance and growth.
The Role
- Responsible for the general running and commercial performance of this site.
- Managing operational resources to ensure excellent customer service, efficiency, and cost control.
- Working closely with technical and service teams to plan resources and deliver customer requirements.
- Leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team.
- Supporting and driving sales, business development, and customer growth.
- Identifying new business opportunities and developing strong customer relationships.
- Taking ownership of budgets, costs, financial targets, and profitability.
- Monitoring KPIs and financial performance and using data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and compliance.
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Contributing to wider business objectives and helping shape the future growth of the operation.

About You
- Proven experience in a General Manager, Operations Manager, Business Unit Manager, or similar leadership position.
- Strong people-management and team leadership experience.
- A background within engineering, manufacturing, technical equipment, servicing, installation, or another relevant operational environment.
- Good technical understanding and the ability to engage confidently with technical teams and customers.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The confidence to be hands-on, visible, and involved in the operation.

A relevant technical, engineering, commercial, or equivalent qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
