About the Company
Our client is a well-established financial planning practice based in Hampshire, providing straight-talking, personalised advice across wealth management, pensions, investments, mortgages, and protection. With a growing team of advisers and dedicated support functions behind them, they are now looking to strengthen their leadership team with the appointment of an Operations Manager.
About the Role
Operations Manager role responsible for the people and operational side of the practice. Reporting to the Director, you will make sure teams perform well, workloads stay under control, processes work, and routine issues are resolved at the right level, without everything needing to land on the Director's desk. For the right person, there is a genuine path to progress into a Director-level role over time.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the operational leads, building them into effective first-line managers
- Own people management, performance conversations, and day-to-day people issues
- Lead resource and capacity planning across New Business, Servicing, and Mortgages
- Own operational recruitment, from defining the need through to making recommendations
- Set and monitor operational KPIs, service levels, and workload visibility
- Own workflow and process improvement
- Manage the two-way relationship between Sales and Operations
- Lead the implementation and adoption of agreed process and technology changes
- Identify risks or capacity issues early, bringing comprehensive solutions
- Work with the Head of Advice & Technical to ensure wealth advice is correctly documented
Package
- £40,000-£45,000 basic salary
- Performance bonus of £3,000-£5,000
- 8% total pension contribution

Skills & Experience
- Proven management experience
- A background in financial services is essential
- A strong people manager, comfortable managing different personalities
- Decisive, and comfortable making sensible decisions without unnecessary escalation
- An effective delegator who leads through others rather than taking the work back
- Process-minded, with the ability to spot weak points in how work flows and improve them
- Comfortable with change and with adopting new technology
- A clear, practical communicator with good judgement and high standards
