🚨 Operations Manager | Defence Industry UK | West Sussex 🚨
I’m currently supporting a leading engineering organisation in West Sussex that is going through an exciting period of transformation and is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager.
This is a key leadership role for someone who enjoys improving the way things operate, leading change, and making a tangible impact across a complex manufacturing environment.
You’ll be responsible for driving operational excellence across a key business function - ensuring delivery performance, improving efficiency, developing teams, and working collaboratively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Finance.

The opportunity:
- Own and improve day-to-day operational performance
- Drive demand & supply alignment, capacity planning and delivery excellence
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality and cost performance
- Support strategic initiatives and new product introductions
- Lead and develop teams within a matrix organisation
- Influence change and help shape the future direction of operations
The ideal background:
- Strong Operations Management experience within defence, aerospace, engineering or another complex manufacturing environment
- Proven experience driving operational improvements and managing change
- Comfortable working with KPIs, ERP/MRP systems and performance data
- A hands-on, proactive leader who can engage across all levels of an organisation
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to bring teams together around common goals
