Crowne Plaza East Midlands Airport is an award-winning hotel, recognized as Best Large Hotel 2025 and a highly commended Business Events Venue at the Leicestershire Promotions Tourism & Hospitality Awards. Conveniently located in the heart of the East Midlands near J24 of the M1 and close to the M42, the hotel is just 10 minutes from East Midlands Airport and East Midlands Parkway, with 10 EV chargers on site for easy access by car, plane, and train. The property offers 114 bedrooms and 16 modern meeting rooms, accommodating up to 330 guests theatre style and 220 for banqueting, all equipped with updated AV technology and conferencing capabilities. Guests and event delegates can enjoy Marco’s New York Italian Restaurant, a cocktail bar, and lounge, with conference buffet lunches served in the restaurant for a change of scenery during the day. The Operations Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kegworth at Crowne Plaza East Midlands Airport. The Operations Manager oversees day-to-day hotel operations, ensuring seamless coordination between front office, food and beverage, events, and housekeeping to deliver high standards of guest service. This role monitors operational performance, manages staffing levels and scheduling, and supports team leaders in meeting commercial, quality, and safety targets. The Operations Manager contributes to budget management, cost control, and revenue optimization, while maintaining compliance with brand standards, health and safety regulations, and operational policies. The role also involves coaching and developing team members, handling escalated guest issues, and collaborating with the senior leadership team to support strategic initiatives and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hotel or hospitality operations management, including supervision of front office, food and beverage, and housekeeping teams.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and team development skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and support diverse staff members.
  • Sound understanding of customer service principles and guest experience standards, with a focus on problem-solving and service recovery.
  • Proficiency in planning and organizing, including scheduling, resource allocation, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercial awareness and basic financial skills, such as budgeting, cost control, and performance analysis for operational departments.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, compliance, and risk management relevant to hotel operations and events.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across departments and engage with guests and colleagues professionally.
  • Experience using hotel property management systems and standard office software; familiarity with IHG or similar branded hotel standards is.
