Job Introduction
The role
Carlisle Support Services is looking for an Operations Manager who will be responsible for the delivery of an excellent security service which fulfils our contractual obligations. The post holder will support service delivery in a professional, impartial, and courteous manner. This is to be achieved within the scope of the contract and in line with Carlisle Support Services policies and procedures.
Your core role will include but not be limited to the following activities:
- Overview of Carlisle Support Services Management and Finance system
- Day to day diary management and forward planning for Management team. Liaison with DSM and various client stakeholders.
- Lead, manage and motivate direct reports including goal setting, performance reviews, appraisals, coaching, and development planning.
- Recruitment of new team members, including organising interviews, completing compliance forms, and preparing induction for new joiners.
- Organise team training sessions, including room bookings, informing attendees, trainer liaison.
- Weekly Site Compliance audit checks to include First Aid equipment, Fire extinguishers, radios.
- Attend meetings such as client monthly meeting, event managers weekly meeting, and any other meeting as requested.
- Manage ongoing training and career development, attending training sessions as and when required.
- Actively seek out internal and external networking opportunities to keep updated of industry innovations and developments.
- Assignment Instructions are maintained accurately and are up to date.
- Welfare meetings completed to monthly schedule.
- Risk Assessments for both Carlisle Support Services and Somerset House are available and up to date.
- Colleague sickness, holidays, absence, and overtime are managed in accordance with Carlisle Support Services policies and customer requirements.
- Health and Safety policy adhered to.
- Excellent knowledge of all control room security systems, including Access Control and CCTV Management.
- Produce and keep updated a comprehensive training matrix.
- Perform or assist with all reasonable Client/ Carlisle Support Services requests.
- Vendor Management for site contractors.
- Monthly meetings organised, KPI's monitored, and budgets adhered to.
- Budget spend reviews.
- Communication and actions required from meetings.

The ideal candidate
- Monday to Friday, 40 hour week – flexible hours as expectation to be available for high profile events, including some evenings and weekends.
- Previous security experience in a management role in a busy environment.
- SIA Door Supervisor license.
- SIA CCTV license.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Commercial awareness.
- Attention to detail.

- People management & ability to positively influence.
