Operations Manager - Leeds

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead our Logistics team in Leeds. You’ll lead a high-performing team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with all legal and safety standards.

Operations Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Manage depot operations, including rota planning, staffing, and cost control.
  • Deliver against KPIs and OGSM targets.
  • Drive customer service excellence for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure legal compliance for drivers and vehicles.
  • Conduct performance reviews, training, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Drive an inclusive culture and ensure Wellbeing, diversity, and Inclusivity events are actively promoted at site level.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in senior-level transport operations.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • ICT proficiency and data-driven decision-making skills.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (A–C or equivalent)
  • Licence CPC Certification
  • IOSH Certification

Desired

  • Experience in milk or food logistics
  • Familiarity with unionized environments (e.g., USDAW)
