White Horse Cleaning provides a full spectrum of professional maintenance and cleaning services across industrial sites, warehouses, exhibition venues, and educational establishments. Offering flexible solutions for diverse client needs. Services are tailored to each client’s specific requirements, including contract cleaning, office cleaning, and communal area cleaning. Local cleaners are carefully recruited, trained, and matched to individual contracts, each overseen by a dedicated supervisor to maintain quality standards. This structure supports consistent service delivery and clear communication between clients, cleaners, and management.
Role Description
The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Thirsk, responsible for overseeing day-to-day cleaning operations and ensuring service quality across multiple client sites. This role includes:

Typical activities involve:
- Conducting site visits
- Liaising with clients about service levels and expectations
- Managing supplies and equipment
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and health and safety standards
- Supporting recruitment and training efforts
- Maintaining accurate operational records
- Reporting regularly to senior leadership
Qualifications
- Experience in operations management or facilities/cleaning services management, including scheduling, resource planning, and contract oversight.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to supervise teams, coach staff, and build positive working relationships.
- Client relationship and communication skills, including the ability to handle client queries, negotiate service requirements, and manage expectations.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple sites and tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, cleaning industry standards, and best practices for risk management and compliance.
- Competence with basic digital tools (email, spreadsheets, scheduling software) and record-keeping for reporting and performance tracking.
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or facilities services is highly beneficial; supervisory experience is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Thirsk, hold a valid driver’s license, and travel between client locations as needed.
