Operations Manager – Primary School

Location: Enfield, North London

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Start Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join a welcoming and well-established primary school in Enfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised and proactive professional to take responsibility for the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of the school.

The Role

As Operations Manager, you will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure the school operates efficiently, safely, and effectively. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school
  • Managing administrative and support functions
  • Overseeing premises, facilities, and maintenance
  • Managing contractors, suppliers, and external services
  • Supporting budget management, purchasing, and financial administration
  • Ensuring compliance with school policies and relevant regulations
  • Overseeing health & safety, risk assessments, and site procedures
  • Managing and supporting administrative and operational staff
  • Ensuring the school environment remains safe, clean, and welcoming
  • Supporting the leadership team with operational planning and development
  • Maintaining accurate records and effective administrative systems

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced, organised, and confident professional who can take ownership of the school's operational requirements. We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in an operations, business management, or similar role
  • Experience within a school or education setting is highly desirable
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience managing budgets, contractors, and suppliers
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong IT and administrative skills
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding and the wellbeing of children
