Operations Manager
The Operations Manager is responsible for the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of MicroNav Trainings' simulator and estates function. The role ensures resources, systems, and facilities are aligned with the training delivery and business needs and goals.
The role also has line management and accountability for rostering, sales coordination, and staff/customer interaction, to ensure a seamless and professional experience across the site.
Simulator Operations
- Ensure mission-critical simulator operations are reliable, secure, efficient, and that they are aligned with the organization's business needs and goals
- Manage all preventative, reactive, and remedial maintenance of corporate and simulator systems at Gloucester College and at the main site as required
- Manage all reconfiguration and development of simulator operations and positions to support training delivery requirements
- Provide oversight to ensure simulator positions are well presented and maintained
- Direct channel of communication with Micro Nav Sims to report functionality deficiencies/issues/improvements that require escalation
- Full appreciation of compliance requirements, to support business adherence to all regulations
- Full involvement with product or technical development projects
- Perform fault diagnosis, support repair, operational checks, and take preventative actions to ensure simulator availability requirements are met
- Support the Sim Ops Manager as needed to meet business objectives
Line Management of Rostering Team
- Manage and direct the team responsible for the Instructor and Simulator Operators' long-term planner, leave schedules, and the automation of weekly rosters and course timetables, ensuring rosters are distributed efficiently and any issues are escalated and resolved
- Ensure the team delivers full support, including report generation, for MicroNav Training Senior Management, Instructors, and customers as required

Line Management of Office Manager
Line Management accountability for the Office Manager - ensuring all aspects of their role are fulfilled including:
Sales & Customer Support
Estates Management
Staff & Customer Interaction
- Work with the Office Manager to maintain a safe, professional, and well-presented office environment internally and externally
- Maintain a strong understanding of core business operations to handle escalated customer enquiries confidently
- Maintain proactive communication with staff and students, and ensure the wider team does the same
Quality & Compliance
- Support compliance with health & safety requirements, risk assessments, and reporting, maintaining high standards across the site
- Ensure adherence to company quality management systems and policies
Travel
- Travel for work purposes to support Micro Nav Simulation and Micro Nav Training business opportunities as required by General Manager
Requirements
- Enhanced IT skills across Microsoft Office, including advanced use of Excel for data analysis and reporting, Outlook for diary and communication management, and PowerPoint for preparing clear operational and management presentations
- Experience in the preventative, reactive, and remedial maintenance of simulator systems, including fault diagnosis, operational checks, repair support, and actions to maintain simulator availability
- Ability to support the reconfiguration and development of simulator operations, systems, and positions to meet evolving training delivery and operational requirements
- Experience in data preparation and site acceptance testing of software developments, ensuring changes are appropriately configured, validated, and ready for operational use
- Educated to A-level, HNC/HND, degree level, or equivalent relevant experience in operations, engineering, simulation, aviation training, IT systems, or a related technical environment
- Previous experience in an operations management, simulator operations, technical support, training delivery, or facilities/site management role
- Experience managing or coordinating technical teams, operational staff, contractors, or third-party suppliers
- Experience supporting mission-critical systems, preferably within simulator, aviation, training, engineering, or technology-led environments
- Strong background in planning, prioritizing, and managing competing operational requirements
- Experience working within quality, compliance, health & safety, or regulated operational environments
- Proven ability to communicate with customers, senior managers, instructors, students, suppliers, and internal teams
- Demonstrable experience of problem-solving, escalation management, and continuous improvement
