The Company
Our client is a leading provider of temporary power solutions, supporting customers across a wide range of industries with power generation equipment, load bank testing and specialist rental solutions. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to lead operational performance, improve efficiencies and support the ongoing expansion of the business.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you will take ownership of the day to day running of the operation, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. You will oversee engineers, coordinate resources, improve processes and work closely with senior leadership to drive operational excellence.
This is a hands on leadership position suited to someone with experience managing engineering operations within the power generation, temporary power or industrial equipment rental sectors.

Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day operations of the Power Generation and Load Bank division.
- Lead, develop and support a team of field service engineers and operational staff.
- Coordinate engineering resources, scheduling and project delivery.
- Ensure equipment availability, maintenance and utilisation are maximised.
- Drive continuous improvement across operational processes and performance.
- Monitor KPIs, budgets and operational costs.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance.
- Work closely with commercial teams to support customer requirements.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Service Manager or Depot Manager within Power Generation, Temporary Power, Load Banks or Industrial Equipment Rental.
- Strong leadership and people management experience.
- Knowledge of diesel generators, power generation systems or load bank testing.
- Experience managing field engineering teams.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and operational performance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable
- Experience within equipment rental or hire businesses.
- Electrical or Mechanical engineering background.
- Knowledge of HV or LV power systems.
- Experience implementing operational improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
