🚢 Operations Manager – Port & Terminal

📍 New Holland, North Lincolnshire -DN19 7RT

Are you an experienced operations leader looking for your next challenge?

We’re looking for an ambitious and hands-on Operations Manager – Port & Terminal to lead day-to-day port, stevedoring, vessel and site operations at our busy New Holland facility.

This is a key role where you’ll be responsible for ensuring our operations are safe, efficient, commercially focused and customer-driven, while leading people and working closely with senior management.

⚓ What you’ll be doing

You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of port and terminal operations, coordinating labour, plant, equipment, vessels and customer requirements to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

You’ll also:

  • Lead and motivate operational teams to deliver high standards of performance
  • Manage vessel, stevedoring and port activities
  • Ensure labour and resources are planned effectively
  • Support the General Manager in achieving operational, commercial and business objectives
  • Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure all activities comply with health & safety, environmental and company requirements
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, contractors and internal teams
  • Provide support with vessel agency duties and rota-based operational cover
  • Take a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

👷 What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in port, terminal, logistics, stevedoring, marine or heavy industrial operations, ideally with experience managing teams and coordinating complex day-to-day activities.

You’ll need:

  • Strong operational leadership and people-management skills
  • Excellent organisation and decision-making abilities
  • A strong understanding of health & safety within an operational environment
  • Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach
  • The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A hands-on approach and the confidence to lead from the front

Experience within port operations, vessel handling, stevedoring or vessel agency would be highly advantageous.
