Operations Manager – Growing Asian Grab & Go Brand
London | £50,000–£55,000
We’re partnering with a really exciting Asian grab & go brand that has grown to three stores in high-footfall London locations and has ambitions to continue expanding at approximately one new site per year.
They’ve reached an important stage in their journey.
The concept is proven, the restaurants are trading and the opportunity is there to grow — but before accelerating that growth, they want to make sure they have the right operational foundations and leadership structure in place.
They’re therefore looking for an experienced Operations Manager / Area Manager who can help take the business from three locations into its next phase.
Mandarin or Cantonese speaking is essential for this position.
The Opportunity
This isn't a role where you'll simply inherit a large corporate operating manual and maintain it.
You'll have the opportunity to help build the operational structure of the business as it scales.
Initially, you'll oversee three London locations and manage the General Managers across the estate. As the business opens further sites, your remit will grow alongside it.
The ambition is to hire somebody who can comfortably manage the three restaurants today but already understands what a five, six, eight or ten-site operation needs to look like.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and developing the General Managers
- Driving operational standards across all locations
- Building accountability within the management team
- Improving consistency across the estate
- Introducing meaningful KPIs and OKRs
- Building stronger reporting and performance structures
- Supporting P&L performance across the group
- Managing labour performance
- Improving stock and wastage controls
- Identifying opportunities to improve revenue and profitability
- Strengthening existing systems and processes
- Developing more structured training and development programmes
- Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards
- Supporting future restaurant openings
- Building an operational platform capable of supporting continued growth

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

They don't want someone who arrives on day one and changes everything because "that's how we did it at my previous company."
They want somebody who will take the time to understand the existing operation, people and culture first — and then use their experience to make it better.
Why This Opportunity?
If you're currently working for a large restaurant group, you may already have excellent training, strong systems and responsibility for multiple sites.
But you might also be wondering what the next step looks like.
This role gives you the chance to take everything you've learned within a larger organisation and apply it somewhere that you can have a genuine impact.
The business currently has three London sites, intends to open approximately one location per year, and wants this person to grow with the company as the estate expands.
For the right individual, that creates a clear opportunity for the position itself to develop considerably as the business grows.
Salary: £50,000–£55,000 depending on experience
Location: London / multi-site
