Denholm Associates is working with a fast-growing technology consultancy that is looking for an Operations Manager to become a key part of its next stage of growth.

Reporting directly to the COO, this is a broad and influential position sitting at the centre of the business.

But this isn't a traditional Operations Manager role where you'll inherit a well-established playbook and simply keep things ticking over. We're looking for someone who enjoys being handed a problem where there isn't yet a process, an obvious owner or necessarily even an obvious answer and then working out what needs to happen.

Your job, ultimately, is to make the business easier to run and easier to scale.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll become the go-to person for operational challenges across the business, with the autonomy to investigate problems, make recommendations and get things moving. Your responsibilities will include:

• Solving the unsolved – taking ownership of non-routine operational problems, supplier onboarding, system access challenges and the inevitable curveballs that come with a growing business.
• Customer onboarding & governance – helping navigate complex customer requirements involving contracts, insurance specifications, security questionnaires and compliance documentation.
• Compliance & audits – coordinating annual compliance activity and working with external auditors across areas such as ISO and Cyber Essentials.
• Making change happen – leading internal projects and helping colleagues successfully adopt new systems, processes, workflows and AI tools.
• Finance operations – coordinating payroll and statutory payments, managing supplier payments, liaising with external accountants and supporting commission reporting.
• Recruitment & onboarding – supporting the hiring journey from drafting job descriptions and initial interviews through to onboarding new colleagues and continually improving the experience.
• Building better processes – spotting the things the business keeps doing manually or inconsistently and asking: “Could we make this simpler, faster or automate it altogether?”
• Using data to improve decisions – helping develop and analyse operational metrics to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
• Supporting senior leadership – taking ownership of operational and executive-level activity that allows the COO and wider leadership team to spend more time focused on customers, people and growth.
