Role Purpose

We are looking for an experienced, highly autonomous Operations Manager to drive the maturity of our core operational processes. Reporting directly to the CEO, your responsibilities will be to ensure business processes run efficiently and economically while providing senior leadership with clear operational clarity.

This is a broad hands-on role suited to a versatile problem-solver with a strong background in business operations, financial control and HR management.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Oversight

  • Financial Operations: General bookkeeping that will include supplier payments, expenses, payroll, accounts receivable, company pension scheme.
  • Strategic Finance Reporting: Working alongside our fractional Finance Director on budgeting, cash flow forecasting and preparing financial KPIs for Board and Investor documentation.
  • Compliance & Governance: Oversee HMRC compliance (VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax, P11d documentation) company secretarial duties and management of the employee share options program.

People & HR (Supported by an external HR Consultant)

  • HR Lifecycle: Manage day-to-day HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, absence tracking (via BambooHR), and employee benefits (e.g., healthcare, childcare, cycle-to-work).
  • Culture & Wellbeing: Set the tone for our remote culture, leading employee wellbeing initiatives, updating HR policies, and organising regular team engagement events.
  • Employee Relations: Manage employee documentation and work with external legal advisors on employment law matters for offboarding agreements.

Business Operations & Legal

  • Process Improvement: Continually evaluate, automate, and optimise core business workflows for a scalable, remote-first model.
  • Contract Management: Coordinate customer and supplier contracts, liaising with legal advisors where custom terms are required.
  • Insurance & Risk: Maintain and review corporate insurance policies across the organisation.

  • Act as the primary operational contact for key external partners, including our Outsourced IT Managed Provider, External People Advisor, and Fractional Finance Director.
  • Collaborate with internal leads, providing financial operational alignment for RevOps, Sales Team and supporting CEOs EA to produce executive reports Board & Investors.

Candidate Profile & Key Skills

  • Experience: Proven track record in a broad Operations Manager, Business Manager, or Operations Control role within a fast-paced environment (SaaS / Tech experience highly desirable).
  • Financial Acumen: Strong working knowledge of commercial finance, financial controls, budgeting, and accounting tools (e.g., Xero, Cledara, Futrili).
  • HR & Legal Familiarity: Practical experience managing core HR workflows, employee data, and standard commercial/employment contracts.
  • Vendor Orchestration: Ability to manage third-party service providers effectively to deliver high-quality outputs.
  • Mindset: Highly self-motivated, organised, and analytical with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" approach to problem-solving in an autonomous, remote setup.

Core Tech Stack

Knowledge of the following software systems would be advantageous. Bamboo, Lattice, Xero, Cledara, Frutrili, HubSpot, o365 Suite.
