Perle Oban Hotel is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our senior leadership team and help shape the future of our luxury waterfront hotel in the heart of Oban.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day operation of the hotel and play a key role in driving guest satisfaction, team performance and commercial success.

You'll directly lead our:

  • Restaurant & Bar Manager
  • Head Housekeeper
  • Reception & Spa Manager
  • Maintenance Team

You'll be responsible for ensuring high standards across every department while supporting the development of your management team and maintaining the exceptional guest experiences for which Perle Oban is known.

In the absence of the General Manager, you'll take full operational responsibility for the hotel.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading the Business

  • Overseeing the daily operation of the hotel.
  • Supporting and developing departmental managers.
  • Driving accountability, teamwork and operational excellence.
  • Taking ownership of key operational and financial targets.
  • Acting as General Manager when required.

Delivering Exceptional Guest Experiences

  • Ensuring every guest receives a warm and memorable welcome.
  • Monitoring guest feedback and online reviews.
  • Managing service recovery and resolving guest concerns.
  • Driving continuous improvement across all guest touchpoints.

Managing Performance

  • Monitoring labour, productivity and departmental KPIs.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Driving efficiency without compromising service quality.
  • Supporting managers to achieve departmental targets.

Maintaining Standards

  • Ensuring bedrooms, public areas and facilities meet expected standards.
  • Supporting exceptional food and beverage service delivery.
  • Working with maintenance teams to protect and enhance hotel assets.
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety and food safety standards.

About You

We're looking for a confident and approachable hotel leader who enjoys developing people, building strong teams and delivering exceptional hospitality.

You may currently be working as an:

  • Operations Manager
  • Deputy General Manager
  • Hotel Manager
  • Rooms Division Manager
  • Senior Food & Beverage Manager

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience within a hotel leadership role.
  • Experience managing multiple operational departments.
  • Strong people management and coaching skills.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of labour, budgets and KPIs.
  • A passion for guest service.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A hands-on leadership style and willingness to lead from the front.
