At Darter, we work with organisations across Defence, National Security, Government, Aerospace, and Technology to tackle complex problems, shape strategy, and deliver meaningful change. Our mission is to strengthen the UK's security, resilience, and prosperity through thoughtful advice, practical action, and responsible use of technology.

We're looking for an Operations Manager to join our growing team as our first ops hire. You'll work closely with our Chief of Staff, taking responsibility for executing, managing, and continuously improving the key business processes that help Darter run well. You'll have the opportunity to bring structure to complexity, use AI and modern tools to make work smarter, and play an important role in Darter's next stage of growth.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Experience managing business operations, administration, internal services, or similar functions in a growing organisation.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • A strong process improvement mindset, with the ability to spot inefficiency, design better ways of working, and make changes stick.
  • Confidence coordinating people, systems, suppliers, content, and internal activities across a busy business.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems calmly, and deliver with minimal supervision.
  • Confidence using AI, automation, and modern business tools to improve processes, reduce manual effort, and raise the standard of internal operations.
  • Experience or confidence supporting people operations, onboarding, business systems, quality management, sales and marketing.
