Operations Manager

Competitive Salary
Hertfordshire

Our Client

Our client is a major operator of critical infrastructure assets and is recognised for its commitment to operational excellence, safety, sustainability and continuous improvement. As a result of ongoing growth and investment, they are seeking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to lead a high-performing operational team within a complex process environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Plant Manager and acting as their deputy, the Operations Manager will lead the site Operations team and take responsibility for operational standards, safety behaviours, plant ownership, shift handover, routines and control room discipline. The role offers a pathway into the organisation's leadership team and will work closely with technology experts, country leads and commercial colleagues to optimise the performance and value of remotely operated battery assets.

You will ensure compliance with company procedures, Generation Safety Rules, environmental permit requirements and relevant statutory obligations, while acting as the Site Environmental Compliance Lead. You will provide visible leadership across safety, process safety, environmental management and operational risk; coach and develop Operations personnel; and work collaboratively with Maintenance, Engineering, Performance and Asset Management teams to optimise plant availability, reliability and efficiency. You will also provide operational leadership during outages, major maintenance, project works and plant modifications, and oversee defects, constraints, abnormal conditions, testing, recommissioning and return-to-service activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
