We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a technical materials testing laboratory in Aberdeen, with responsibility for mechanical, metallurgical, fracture mechanics, and fatigue testing.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the laboratory delivers high-quality, technically robust, and commercially effective testing services while maintaining the highest standards of health & safety, quality, customer service, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
The role is particularly suited to an operations leader with experience in materials testing, metallurgy, mechanical testing, or engineering services, ideally within the oil & gas, energy, offshore, subsea, aerospace, power generation, or industrial sectors.

Required Experience
- Significant experience managing operations within a materials testing, mechanical testing, metallurgical laboratory, or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and materials testing principles.
- Experience with some combination of fracture mechanics, fatigue testing, metallography, and mechanical testing.
- Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and laboratory operations.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety and risk management.
- Proven ability to manage workload, resources, priorities, and customer deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and continuous-improvement skills.
