Location: Hybrid (Office & Home-Based) – UK Wide
Travel: Regular travel across England, Wales & Scotland

The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Operations Manager to oversee the delivery of facilities management services across our national portfolio.
This is a varied leadership role, combining operational management with business growth. You will ensure exceptional service delivery across Hard and Soft FM contracts while supporting the development of new opportunities, strengthening client relationships and driving continuous improvement across the business.
You'll also play a key role in managing facilities services for major events and supporting the mobilisation of new contracts across England, Wales and Scotland.

Operational Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of facilities management services across multiple client sites throughout the UK.
- Manage Hard and Soft FM operations to ensure consistently high standards of service.
- Monitor operational performance, KPIs and service quality across all contracts.
- Manage budgets, financial performance and cost efficiencies.
- Lead, coach and develop site managers and operational teams.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, environmental legislation and statutory requirements.
- Drive operational improvements and implement best practice throughout the business.
- Support the mobilisation of new contracts and smooth contract transitions.
Business Growth & Client Development
- Support the continued growth of VEA FM across England, Wales and Scotland.
- Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client accounts.
- Build strong client relationships to maximise retention and long-term partnerships.
- Assist in preparing tenders, presentations and operational proposals for new business opportunities.
- Represent VEA FM at client meetings, networking events and industry functions.
- Contribute towards revenue growth and strategic business objectives.
Event Facilities Management
- Manage facilities operations for a wide range of events from planning through to completion.
- Coordinate cleaning, security, stewarding, waste management and technical support services.
- Ensure all event operations comply with Health & Safety requirements.
- Manage staffing levels, logistics and supplier performance.
- Deliver seamless operational support that exceeds client expectations.
Client & Contract Management
- Carry out regular site inspections and contract performance reviews.
- Build trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Resolve operational issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure contractual obligations and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently achieved.
- Produce operational reports and provide recommendations to senior management.

About You
We're looking for someone who brings strong operational leadership together with commercial awareness and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
You'll Ideally Have
- Proven experience managing multi-site Hard and Soft FM contracts.
- Experience supporting business development and account growth.
- Previous responsibility for facilities management within event environments.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Financial and commercial awareness, including budget management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, solution-focused and results-driven approach.
- Flexibility to travel throughout the UK, including Scotland, when required.
