About the Role

One of the UK's leading and fastest-growing specialist tunneling contractors, delivering complex micro tunneling, pipe jacking, shaft construction, and trenchless engineering projects across the water, energy, rail, and infrastructure sectors, is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to join their senior management team in Doncaster. This role supports projects throughout the UK with a particular focus on AMP8 water sector and wider utility and infrastructure markets.

Location: Doncaster
Working Model: Based from head office in Doncaster minimum of 2 days a week with hybrid working.

Reporting to: The Board of Directors

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of multiple projects.
  • Drive programme performance, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Manage client relationships and work collaboratively with key stakeholders.
  • Support and mentor Project Managers and site teams.
  • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Seeking Candidates With

  • Proven experience in an operational management role within civil engineering, tunneling, or utilities.
  • Experience working for a main or subcontractor in a relevant sector.
  • Any experience of shaft sinking, tunneling, trenchless construction, water, gas, major infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commercially aware with experience working under NEC contracts (desirable).
  • Passionate about developing people, improving performance, and delivering outstanding project outcomes.
