đź’° ÂŁ55,000 - ÂŁ70,000
🏠High-Growth Food Manufacturing Business
We’re partnering with an ambitious, rapidly growing food manufacturer to recruit a Production Operations Manager for its modern manufacturing facility in Suffolk.
This is not a traditional “keep the lines running” management role. The business is scaling quickly, investing in its operation and challenging an established consumer market with a premium, quality-led product.
You’ll take ownership of day-to-day production operations, leading teams across a fast-paced, high-care environment while improving performance, developing people and creating the structure needed to support continued growth.
The role will involve:
- Leading production teams to deliver against safety, quality, service, cost, and output targets
- Managing and developing Production Managers, Shift Managers, and frontline team leaders
- Improving labour efficiency, line performance, yield, waste, and overall productivity
- Introducing stronger operational processes, routines, and performance measures
- Working closely with Technical, Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain, and People teams
- Ensuring consistently high standards of food safety, hygiene, and product quality
- Supporting capacity planning, new product introductions, and operational change
- Building an accountable, positive, and high-performing production culture
- Identifying bottlenecks and delivering practical continuous improvement initiatives
- Helping develop the site’s operational strategy as the business continues to scale

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
