At Youth4Youth, we are a tight-knit community of people who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people across the UK 💙
Youth4Youth is an online peer-to-peer mentoring service for young people. We can act as a first stepping stone for young people who do not feel comfortable seeking support for themselves or who need a listening ear to help them cope with personal issues.
About The Role
We are seeking a sharp, proactive, and highly organised Operations Manager to keep the Y4Y engine running at peak efficiency.
As a dynamic digital charity led by a part-time CEO, we need an operational lead who can untangle administrative bottlenecks, streamline cross-functional workflows, and keep our remote team of directors, volunteers, and DWP placement staff aligned and supported.
If you thrive on turning operational chaos into structured systems, love digital tools, and want your work to directly transform young lives, this role is for you.
Reports to: CEO
Classification: Manager
Location: Fully remote with some business travel required
Salary [range]: £32,000 - 36,00 per year, pro rata
Contract Type: fixed-term, part-time
Weekly working hours: 25
Responsibilities
- Administrative & Workflow Management: Take full ownership of day-to-day administrative functions, eliminating bottlenecks and freeing the executive team to focus on strategic growth and funding.
- Process Optimisation: Refine and standardise operational workflows across our digital platforms (Teamtailor, Deel, communication portals, and team management tools).
- Team & Volunteer Support: Act as the operational connective tissue between directors, volunteer leads (Youth Services, IT, Volunteer Experience), and DWP placement staff.
- Governance & Board Liaison: Assist the CEO with Board of Trustees logistics, meeting preparation, governance compliance, and internal reporting.
- Project Tracking: Monitor key deliverables across current strategic roadmaps, ensuring milestone deadlines (such as portal rollouts and DWP cohort onboarding) are met.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
