Operations Manager - Portable Fire Extinguisher Division

Here at Chubb Fire & Security we're currently recruiting for a Operations Manager supporting our Portable Fire Extinguisher division. You will assume full responsibility for the day-to-day operational activities, including team leadership, workload management, service delivery, productivity, compliance, customer performance, and cost control.

The role covers a large area of the South East from SE, GU, BN, TN, CR, CT, ME, RH, TW, with the ideal candidate being based around the centre of the patch or to the northern end, including RG, HP and WD. You will have a blend of field & remote based working, with typically a minimum of 2 days out in the field supporting Engineers and meeting customers.

Salary and Benefits

  • SALARY: From £44,000 – £48,000 per annum – dependant on experience with up to £13,800 OTE Bonus

What You’ll be Doing

As an Operations Manager you will lead our field operational activity and associated business processes in the delivery of planned, reactive and corrective service, maintenance and works within the Portable Fire Extinguisher division. You will also have overall accountability to lead and develop our teams to ensure optimised productivity and service delivery to achieve sustained profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer

    • Ownership of customer portfolio and deliverables
    • Proactively meet with customers to nurture relationships
  • People

    • Deal with people matters
    • Manage training, development, talent and succession
  • Health & Safety (H&S)

    • Ensure compliance with all audits
    • Lead a 'safety first' culture adopting a target zero mindset where all are accountable for safety
  • Productivity

    • Drive the momentum on completing inspections by month due
    • Review engineer performance and productivity
  • Operations

    • Review customer contracts
    • Drive sustainable growth and profitability

What We Would Like You to Bring

  • Field Operational Management Experience is essential
  • Experience in the Fire Industry would be advantageous
  • You’ll be a natural communicator, with an ability to build rapport with our customers and your team
  • Solution / results focused – Strive to understand and resolve potential issues to drive business growth
  • Prioritise workloads & multitask effectively – You’ll work with a number of Engineers & customers at any one time
  • Highly organised - Planning or scheduling experience would be beneficial but not essential
