Purpose of the Role

The Operations Manager will take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the business, managing the team and turning the Managing Director's vision and priorities into action.

The key purpose of the role is to take operational pressure away from the Managing Director, allowing them to focus on clients, strategy, growth and the future direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ideas and priorities from the Managing Director and turn them into clear actions, allocating responsibility and following them through to completion.
  • Create accountability across the team and deal with delays, bottlenecks or operational issues without everything having to be referred back to the Managing Director.
  • Review and improve business processes so work moves efficiently through the business and responsibilities are clear.
  • Oversee the client journey from meeting and advice through to processing, completion and ongoing service, ensuring cases do not become unnecessarily delayed.
  • Maintain oversight of new business, outstanding cases, client reviews, team workloads, projects and important deadlines.
  • Run effective operational meetings with clear actions, owners and timescales, and ensure agreed actions are completed.
  • Work with advisers, administrators and compliance support to ensure systems, records, documentation and internal procedures are kept to the required standard.
  • Identify problems early, propose practical solutions and take ownership of implementing improvements.
  • Keep the Managing Director informed through concise, useful updates, highlighting only those matters that genuinely require their decision or involvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
