Salary: Competitive Salary

Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 17:30pm

Location: Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich, NR6 5BE (with travel to associated trust sites)

About G4S Facilities Management

G4S Facilities Management is looking for a dynamic Operations Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will take full accountability for service delivery across the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. You will drive operational excellence, ensuring all services align strictly with contractual parameters while managing performance successfully within the defined G4S budget.

Core Responsibilities Will Include

Financial & Commercial Performance

  • Budget Ownership: Take full financial accountability for assigned locality budgets, maximizing profitability and finding cost savings while minimizing commercial risk.
  • Fiscal Compliance: Support the Contract Manager in ensuring strict adherence to all company, mandatory, and statutory fiscal policies and processes.

Operational Excellence & Quality Assurance

  • Service Delivery: Lead the prompt delivery of high-quality facilities services that meet G4S corporate standards, contractual obligations, and ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Client Relations: Proactively manage stakeholder and client relationships to consistently exceed contractual requirements and maintain a professional company image.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Collaborate effectively with internal G4S managers and client teams to ensure seamless, coordinated daily operations.

Health, Safety, and Security (HSE)

  • Safety Culture: Foster a robust health, safety, and security culture across all sites, ensuring 100% compliance with statutory and corporate HSE requirements.
  • Risk & Security Management: Actively identify, report, and rectify safety breaches or risks while safeguarding company and client equipment.

Team Leadership & HR Management

  • Staff Development: Build, motivate, and mentor a professional operational team, ensuring effective resource utilization and staff training.
  • Performance & Welfare: Manage employee welfare and performance, including the robust management of sickness, absence, and mandatory return-to-work procedures in line with company policy.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience managing staff and services within a complex NHS environment
  • Strong commercial awareness with a clear understanding of budgetary ownership and a drive to achieve positive financial outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing operations across multiple sites/localities
  • Exceptional ability to motivate and organise teams effectively to meet operational objectives
  • Maintains a flexible and adaptable approach to work, able to navigate changing priorities
  • Proven track record of working openly and collaboratively with staff and stakeholders at all organisational levels
  • Full driving licence
