Your new company A leading UK infrastructure and logistics organisation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join its senior leadership team at a large, high-profile operational facility in Kent. The business plays a critical role within national supply chains, handling significant volumes of cargo and logistics activity while maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational performance and customer service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proven operational leader to drive continuous improvement, lead multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to the long-term strategic development of a major industrial operation.

Your new role Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of operational activities across the site.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading day-to-day operational performance across a complex 24/7 environment.
  • Driving a strong health, safety and environmental culture throughout the operation.
  • Managing and developing operational, supervisory and team leadership personnel.
  • Delivering performance against KPIs relating to productivity, service, cost and compliance.
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensuring effective resource planning to meet changing business demands.
  • Building strong relationships with customers, contractors and key stakeholders.
  • Supporting budget management and operational expenditure control.
  • Leading operational projects and business improvement activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and company procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager, Senior Operations Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Strong background within manufacturing, heavy industry, warehousing or other large-scale operational environments.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multi-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and operational best practice.
  • Track record of delivering performance improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
  • NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
