Operations Manager (Mechanically Biased) Join a Growing Building Services Contractor on the South Coast.

Due to continued growth and success, we're looking for a driven and project delivery focused Operations Manager to join an expanding team on the South Coast. This is a newly created role designed to strengthen the leadership team and take ownership of the project delivery function. You'll be joining a company with an excellent reputation for quality, collaboration, and long-term client relationships, and this role is integral to continuing that.

The Role As Operations Manager, you'll take ownership of leading the delivery of multiple mechanical projects through to completion, ensuring they are delivered to the highest standards. Projects vary across the South Coast and surrounding areas up to London, and encompass Healthcare, Schools, Commercial, Office environments.

Key responsibilities of this role will be the leadership of the team of Project Managers that report into this position, providing support, direction, and development both as a collective team and individually. You will also be the escalation point both internally and externally for clients in resolving any potential issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the project management team delivering a portfolio of mechanical projects.
  • Client facing - build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Monitor programme, budgets, and project performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and quality standards.
  • Support project teams throughout delivery, providing development and mentoring.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Desired Skills and Experience: We're looking for someone who combines proven project delivery expertise with strong team leadership, development, and people management.

  • Proven experience managing mechanical building services projects.
  • Background within a Building Services contractor.
  • Excellent knowledge of HVAC, pipework, plant room installations, and associated mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to lead and develop project management team and function.
