Operations Officer
This is a newly created role supporting the launch and growth of a custody business focused on cross-border capital markets activity, combining responsibility for CASS-regulated client asset reconciliations with treasury operations across FX and interest rate products. The position plays a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, operational control and accurate transaction processing within a regulated wholesale banking environment.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established international wholesale banking platform that is investing in the growth of its cross-border capital markets and custody offering. As the business continues to expand its presence in securities services, it provides exposure to international markets, regulatory change and a broad range of treasury and custody activities within a highly regulated environment.
Description
- Perform daily and monthly CASS reconciliations across client custody assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Reconcile securities positions against external custodians, depositories and internal records, investigating and resolving any reconciliation breaks.
- Maintain accurate records, reconciliation evidence and supporting documentation in line with CASS and audit requirements.
- Support the ongoing management and development of a growing custody platform focused on cross-border capital markets activity.
- Process and monitor corporate actions, including coupon payments, redemptions and other lifecycle events across custody assets.
- Provide operational support for FX transactions, including confirmations, settlements, payment processing and account reconciliations.
- Support the lifecycle management of treasury products including FX Spot, FX Forward, FX Swaps, repos and interest rate derivatives.
- Ensure timely and accurate trade confirmation, settlement and regulatory reporting activities across treasury operations.
- Liaise with front office, finance, compliance, external custodians, counterparties and operations teams to resolve queries and support transaction processing.
- Maintain a robust control environment through maker/checker processes, operational risk monitoring, issue escalation and support for internal and external audits.
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements, including CASS-related reporting and treasury transaction reporting obligations.
- Contribute to process improvements, operational efficiency initiatives and regulatory change projects within both the custody and treasury functions.

Profile
A successful Operations Officer should have:
- Degree educated with a minimum of 3 years' experience within UK financial services.
- Proven custody operations experience is essential, including securities settlement, corporate actions, position reconciliations and working with custodians or sub-custodians.
- Able and willing to work in the office 5 days per week (non-hybrid).
- Experience performing CASS reconciliations within an FCA-regulated environment, with a sound understanding of client asset rules and controls.
- Experience supporting operations across FX and/or interest rate products, including trade confirmation, settlement and account reconciliations.
- Good understanding of financial instruments including bonds, foreign exchange products and derivatives.
- Knowledge of SWIFT messaging and experience using custody, treasury or banking operations systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks and operational issues.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to operate within a well-controlled regulatory environment.
- Experience of regulatory reporting, UK EMIR, MiFID II/MiFIR, CASS governance or Resolution Pack activities would be advantageous.
- Exposure to cross-border custody, international securities markets would be beneficial.
- Professional qualifications such as IOC, CISI, CASS, FRM or similar would be viewed favourably.
