The Seagate Derry / Londonderry Manufacturing site has been open for 30 years this year. We have over 1400 people working in our facility which is among the most advanced in the world, in the design, development, and volume manufacturing of recording heads. These recording heads write information onto and read information from the recording disc, within the data storage device.
In the role of Operations Planning Engineer you will be part of a team responsible for key services including capacity planning, capital budget planning and design of factory layouts, factory staffing and factory modelling.
You will be exposed to and involved with applying engineering models, mathematical models, simulation and optimization models to drive solutions for complex manufacturing problems. You will also support and improve the performance of Manufacturing operations. The Operations Planning team play a critical role in the execution of Seagate’s Product and Technology Roadmap.
About The Role - You Will
- Collaborate in a team environment to determine the capital and capacity required for the development and manufacturing of Seagate’s technology and product roadmap.
- Impact the bottom line of the business by taking responsibility for developing efficient world class manufacturing processes & systems using analytical data to determine the most efficient utilisation of personnel and equipment.
- Identify, manage and resolve bottlenecks and become a champion of change.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to work on your own initiative, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and react to shifting priorities to meet business needs.

About You
- Be a self-starter with the ability to solve problems quickly and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain and meet critical organizational goals and objectives.
- Be a creative thinker with the ability to bring innovative ideas to the team.
Your Experience Includes
- Recently graduated from an engineering or mathematical related degree program.
You Might Also Have
- Exposure to mathematical optimization techniques.
- Exposure to providing continuous improvement in a Manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to using statistical techniques for problem solving.

This is a Full-Time position working 39 hours per week, on-site working.
This role does not meet the criteria set by the Home Office for sponsorship on a Skilled Worker Visa as such sponsorship of this visa cannot be offered.
