Help grow a safer, cleaner, healthier future for everyone, every day.

Although you will have no direct reports, your role will be highly influential within Apollo. As we continue to automate our existing products, you will need to apply lessons learned and knowledge gained to both these projects and to the development of our future product ranges. You will be key a part of the team advising on mechanical design nuances and electronic component layout to best optimise the final design for automated assembly.

Collaborating with stakeholders throughout Apollo, you will identify opportunities for automation, develop the business cases, and present them to the Board for approval. You will own the entire life cycle of the project from opportunity development and vendor selection through to installation and handover to our Shopfloor teams.

You will work closely with the Test Solutions team, who will provide the expertise required to automate the testing of our products, broadening your knowledge base. In return, you will help them to grow by passing on your project management experience and understanding of how working with vendors can allow us to magnify the impact we can have on the business when delivering automation.

Within this role, there is an expectation of travel, staying away from home during the working week. The extent of this travel will vary with each project and will depend upon the locations of the suppliers that you select along with the complexity of the project.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Automation
  • Major Operations projects (such as manufacturing transfers, site developments, etc.)
  • Introduction of digital tools (such as AI) within the Operations function

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
