Abbott’s Diabetes Care business designs, develops, and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings, and we have recently launched a new system that will revolutionize how people with diabetes around the world monitor their glucose levels. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people’s lives.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Quality Lab Team Leader to lead our Product Test team in providing quality and compliant Sensor testing.
Responsibilities
- Developing, leading, and motivating your team
- Ensuring quality, yield, and output deliverables
- Maintaining and championing EHS initiatives
- Driving 6S and process improvements
- Taking ownership for your area, acting as a representative at daily meetings
- Reporting on metrics
- Escalating issues effectively
- Coordinating between teams
- Supporting the daily walk-around activities
- Interacting with quality, engineering, and other relevant support functions as required

Daily Tasks
- Utilize laboratory equipment, machinery, and instruments to perform sensor testing
- Undertake a series of physical testing procedures
- Conduct visual inspection of sensors
- Perform batch record review and approval to support product release, on-market stability, complaints, and product development trials
- Support the control and scheduling of tests
- Monitor and assist with daily laboratory activities
- Maintain awareness of new/changed products and processes within the area
Requirements
- Experience of leading teams and delivering results
- Passion for working in a fast-paced environment within a hard-working and welcoming team
- Proactive leadership skills
- Ability to effectively multi-task within the scope of procedures and protocols
- Good communication and time management skills

Shift Pattern
- Night shift position, working a 4-on / 4-off shift pattern (7:00 pm – 7:00 am)
- Availability to start in July
Education and Experience
- Minimum secondary education in English and Mathematics
- Preferred: Previous experience of working in a laboratory (including experience of GLP and GMP) and use of a variety of analytical/testing instruments to provide a general knowledge of laboratory science
