Job Introduction

Are you passionate in supporting the military in being best prepared to meet worldwide challenges? Landmarc Support Services currently have an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Operations Room Administrator to join our team at Westdown Camp.

As an Operations Room Administrator, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and operational effectiveness of Salisbury Plain Training Area. Working within a 24/7 Operations Room environment, providing critical support to Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and Landmarc teams, ensuring all activities are conducted safely and where every shift contributes directly to the safe delivery of military training, in accordance with established regulations and procedures.

Role Details

  • Salary: £36,332.71 + £2,730.00 On-Call Allowance per annum
  • Location: Westdown Camp, Tilshead, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP3 4RS
  • Contract: Permanent / Full-time
  • Hours: 42 hours per week
  • Shifts: Shifts follow a 5-week rolling roster, alternating between day and night shifts. The number of consecutive day or night shifts may vary. Workdays will include some weekends and public holidays.
    • Day shift: 05:45 – 17:45
    • Night shift: 17:45 – 05:45

What You’ll Do

  • Supporting the safe operation of military training activities across Salisbury Plain Training Area
  • Monitoring and maintaining operational radio and telephone communications.
  • Coordinating and supporting incident management activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with training area safety regulations and operational procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records and administrative systems.
  • Using a range of bespoke and standard IT applications.
  • Participate in a 24/7 shift rotation, ensuring operational coverage around the clock including On-call Rota

Essential

What We’re Looking For

  • Ability to work under pressure, with multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Possibly previous Emergency Services/Military background
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with bespoke software tools
  • Demonstrates energy, enthusiasm and a proactive approach to tasks and the business.
  • Places a high priority on health and safety and maintaining a safe environment
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic office environment with diverse and changing responsibilities.
  • Previous knowledge and experience of military based protocols including mapping and communications is advantageous.
  • Holds a valid UK driving licence (essential due to location)

Desirable

  • Knowledge of mapping and grid referencing
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures
  • Experienced in using radios and military radio protocols
