About the Role
Lead High-Volume Operations. Help Build a Growing Logistics Network.
We have partnered with a fast-growing logistics technology business, backed by a $35M Series A, combining logistics operations, technology, data and AI to build a more efficient delivery network.
They are looking for experienced Shift Managers, Operations Managers, Warehouse Managers and Logistics Managers to join their growing operations teams across London, Birmingham and Nottingham.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will take ownership of shift performance, people, productivity, service and KPIs, using operational data to identify problems and improve performance.
You'll be working in a fast-paced, high-volume parcel, sortation and distribution environment, where decisions need to be made quickly and your leadership can have a direct impact on the operation.
Why Join?
This isn't simply a role where you'll be maintaining an established operation. You'll have the opportunity to help build, improve and scale the operation as the business grows, working in an environment that combines traditional logistics expertise with technology, data, AI and automation.
You'll work alongside teams across operations, engineering, product and data, giving you the opportunity to influence how the operation develops and progresses as the business scales.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of the day-to-day performance of your shift, ensuring productivity, quality, service and KPI targets are achieved.
- Lead, motivate and develop operational teams, creating a strong culture of accountability and performance.
- Manage workforce planning and allocation across permanent and agency teams.
- Ensure the right people and resources are in the right areas at the right time.
- Monitor KPIs, productivity, service levels, quality, cost and operational data to identify issues and opportunities.
- Investigate underperformance and implement clear improvement plans.
- Coach, develop and manage underperforming employees, including difficult performance conversations where required.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement practical improvements to increase productivity, service and efficiency.
- Support the operation through peak periods and significant volume increases.
- Work closely with site leadership and wider stakeholders to resolve operational challenges.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, compliance and operational discipline.
- Take a hands-on approach during busy periods and support the wider operation when required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
