About the Role
Take ownership of operational excellence and help shape the future growth of our Cables & Connectivity business. We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Operations Specialist to lead operational performance across our Cables & Connectivity business unit. This is a highly visible role where you'll take ownership of key operational processes, customer escalations, service performance and cross-functional coordination to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
Working closely with teams across Sales, Product Management, Purchasing, Warehouse, Customer Service, Finance and IT, you'll remove operational barriers, drive continuous improvement and build scalable processes that support business growth. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, leading change and delivering measurable improvements in a fast-paced distribution environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Take ownership of end-to-end operational performance, ensuring service levels, fulfilment targets and customer expectations are consistently achieved.
- Act as the central escalation point for operational issues, driving timely resolution and accountability across departments.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, streamlining processes, reducing inefficiencies and introducing automation where appropriate.
- Partner with customers to understand operational requirements, improve service delivery and increase customer satisfaction and retention.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Warehouse, Customer Service, Sales, Finance, Purchasing, Product Management and IT.
- Manage and improve key operational workflows including bespoke orders, workshop services, returns, order-to-despatch processes and customer onboarding.
- Lead operational improvement projects, ensuring clear ownership, measurable outcomes and successful implementation.
- Use operational and commercial data to identify risks, improve profitability and support future growth opportunities.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a strong understanding of distribution, logistics and operational processes.
- Has proven experience driving process improvement and leading operational change initiatives.
- Can analyse operational, customer and commercial data to identify trends, solve problems and drive performance improvements.
- Has strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across multiple teams.
- Demonstrates excellent project management skills and can successfully coordinate complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Is customer-focused, proactive, highly organised and comfortable managing escalations and competing priorities.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within IT distribution, technology or other technical environments.
- Knowledge of SAP, CRM, ERP or analytics tools such as Qlik.
- Experience implementing Lean methodologies, automation or operational excellence programmes.
- Experience working closely with IT teams to deliver system and process improvements.
